The CDC Has a Multifaceted, International Role in Containing Ebola
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is heavily involved in understanding, treating, and containing the Ebola outbreak that has spread to several West African countries. The CDC is providing emergency support and coordination, along with trained healthcare professionals, to the affected countries. They are monitoring exit points of these West African countries, as well as working with Customs and Border Protection in the U.S. to monitor entry points for sick individuals. They are training healthcare and research personnel in the U.S. to handle suspected cases of Ebola and testing of Ebola samples.
